Later, after discovering the Suttas, she became interested in Early Buddhism. For about thirty years she practiced Dhamma with a group of friends while working as a doctor and psychotherapist. She received important inspiration from teachers of the Tibetan Drukpa Kagyu lineage and later from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samita.be\/en\/monks-nuns\/ajahn-brahm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.samita.be\/en\/monks-nuns\/ajahn-brahm\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1638883218757000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1yjBI5gODLs6yg-HCyMrRU\">Ajahn Brahm<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.samita.be\/en\/monks-nuns\/bhante-sujato\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.samita.be\/en\/monks-nuns\/bhante-sujato\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1638883218757000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1qFe9l6zXuO04vlAFuEbBV\">Bhante Sujato<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>After extended stays in monasteries of the Thai forest tradition, she took Anagarika ordination with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samita.be\/en\/monks-nuns\/ayya-vimala\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vimala Bhikkhuni<\/a> in 2017.\u00a0 She helped with the establishment of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.samita.be\/en\/tilorien-monastery\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tilorien Monastery<\/a> in Belgium, while at the same time supporting her parents. On Nov 20, 202,1 she was ordained as a Silashin according to Burmese tradition by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ashinkusala.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.ashinkusala.com\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1638883218757000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0VtmlObmioz8Ll72ekpSYV\">Sayadaw Kusalasami<\/a>, encouraged and supported by her mentor,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/alokavihara.org\/about\/nuns-community\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/alokavihara.org\/about\/nuns-community\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1638883218757000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0TeKqNSd0XBz7UAe7ojefJ\">Santacitta Bhikkhuni<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Sabbamitta Silashin is living with her father. Currently, she is working on <a href=\"https:\/\/dhammaregen.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/dhammaregen.github.io\/dhammaregen&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1638883218757000&amp;usg=AOvVaw39-JnAVVBCSftRG-iN4qi8\">German translations of texts of the Pali canon<\/a>\u00a0and is part of the core team of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sc-voice.net\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/voice.suttacentral.net\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1638883218757000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0Ib1qDjRT_Z6JPvtjufHbQ\">Voice.suttacentral.net<\/a>, a text-to-speech application for listening to the Suttas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sabbamitta Silashin first encountered Buddhism with Tibetan teachers in her mid-twenties.
