Ayya Yeshe Chodron<\/a> gave this talk on February 22, 2017 at Mahapajapati Monastery, Califonia, where she had been staying for a month. She expounds the conditions of the low caste people she is working with in India and traces their history back to Dr. Ambedkar who, coming from this very “untouchable” caste himself, did a lot to improve their living conditions.<\/p>\n

Ayya Tathaaloka<\/a> gave this talk on March 1, 2017, in Sri Lanka. The study of ancient Bhikkhun\u012bs has been a favourite topic of concern for her for many years: She studied comparative Vinaya, particularly Bhikkhun\u012b Vinaya, as well as a topic called “World Bhikkhun\u012b Sangha History”. In her talk she explains what the suttas say about the role of Bhikkhun\u012bs, and\u00a0relates this to her own experiences as a monastic over the last 30 years, 20 of which she has been\u00a0a\u00a0Bhikkhun\u012b.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
