The <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Therigata<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the world&#8217;s oldest collection of women&#8217;s literature, forming the basis for &#8216;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The First Free women &#8211; Poems of the Early Buddhist Nuns&#8217;<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which offers a radical and contemporary adaptation of these verses while remaining true to the essence of each poem and highlighting the struggles and doubts, as well as the strength, perseverance, and profound compassion, embodied by these courageous women.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/tilorien.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Ayya_Anandabodhi.jpg\" width=\"157\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Ayya Anandabodhi<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> first encountered the Buddha\u2019s teachings in her early teens, igniting a deep interest in the Buddha\u2019s Path of Awakening. She lived and trained as a nun in the Forest Tradition at <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amaravati.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Amaravati<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cittaviveka.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Chithurst<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">monasteries in England from 1992 until 2009, when she moved to the US to help establish <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/alokavihara.org\/about\/nuns-community\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Aloka Vihara<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a training monastery for women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her practice and teaching are guided by early Buddhist scriptures and through nature\u2019s pure and immediate Dhamma.
