It&#8217;s a very interesting book for anybody interested in the history and lived experience of transgender and queer people in religion thoughout the ages. Ven. Vimala contributed the chapter &#8220;Coming to Terms with Trans- and Queerness in Buddhist Texts&#8221; together with Prof. Bee Scherer of the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This chapter details the history of LGBTIQA+ in the Early Buddhist Texts and thereafter. Prof. Scherer also wrote a chapter on the current situation in Buddhism &#8220;Queer Dharmology&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>There are also many other interesting chapters that detail the situation and history in other religions, like Islam, Judaism, Christianity, etc. The book aims to provide a complete picture of what is known about trans- and queerness in religions throughout the world.
