She is a contemplative, teacher and socially engaged activist and feminist. She is the director of <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicitta-vihara.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bodhicitta Foundation<\/a> India (a charity helping ex \u201cuntouchable\u201d Indian economically disadvantaged people). She is also abbess of <a href=\"https:\/\/bodhicitta-monastery.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bodhicitta Dakini Monastery<\/a>, Australia. Ayya wrote \u201cEveryday Enlightenment\u201d published by Harper Collins and has 95,000 hits on her sacred chants CD \u201cDakini.\u201d Ayya\u2019s maxim is: \u201cDont curse the darkness, light a candle.\u201d (Gandhi).
