Zij is directeur van Bodhicitta Foundation India (een liefdadigheidsinstelling die ex-&#8220;onaanraakbaren&#8221; in India helpt in hun economische achterstandspositie). Ze is ook abdis van het Bodhicitta Dakini klooster in Australi\u00eb. Ayya schreef &#8220;Everyday Enlightenment&#8221; gepubliceerd door Harper Collins en heeft 95.000 hits op haar heilige gezangen CD &#8220;Dakini.&#8221; Ayya&#8217;s stelregel is: &#8220;Vervloek de duisternis niet, steek een kaars aan.&#8221; (Gandhi).
