Our new Board member, Kathrin Schertenleib, has been known to be very talented in many fields. Studying Medicine in Pleven, Bulgaria at the moment, she used to be a Buddhist nun with the name of Ayya Patacara, ordained by Bhante Sujato.

While staying at Santi Forest Monastery in Australia, she made some very beautiful art. Amongst others the intricate snake-mozaic around the stupa:


And she spent nearly 2 years carving a large Buddha-statue in the big cave:
